Help restrict game bird release in Wales

Natural Resources Wales (NRW) has launched a consultation on regulating the release of ‘game’ birds in Wales. Millions of pheasants and partridges are released into the countryside in Wales every year. This can cause huge damage to the environment and animals. The proposals are an important step towards limiting the uncontrolled mass release of birds to be shot for ‘sport’. There are also improvements which we believe should be made to make sure the environment is better protected.

Please join our calls in support of tougher restrictions on game bird release in Wales. Take action by emailing the consultation team today.

The consultation closes on 20 June 2023.

Filling out the consultation in your own words will have the biggest impact. If you would prefer to complete the full consultation yourself, you can find further information and guidance here.
