The Scottish Government are in danger of being hoodwinked into allowing the continuation of cruel and indiscriminate snares.
The League has campaigned for a ban of cruel and indiscriminate snares for decades and we welcomed Government plans to ban them.
But now we are very worried that the Government is in danger of being hoodwinked by a plot to simply rename snares as “humane cable restraints”.
And you don’t just have to take our word for this. Our short video shows that the same photograph has been used by pro shooting organisations to illustrate both snares and humane cable restraints. And what’s more, when the same ploy was used in Wales, the Welsh Minister said “To be very clear, a so-called humane cable restraint and a code-compliant snare are identical in every way…”
