Hunting with dogs is barbaric and has no place in a modern and compassionate society. Yet it’s still legal in Northern Ireland.
Right now, Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) in Stormont are debating the Bill which could finally end hunting for good but we’re at a crucial point.
The Bill has been accepted in principle but it still needs support and can still be amended. We need to make sure the Bill stays as strong as possible to avoid loopholes that allow continued cruelty.
Trail hunting is a loophole, that has often been used in Scotland and England, which can act as a smokescreen for illegal hunting. We can’t let amendments to this Bill allow this loophole.
Terrier work/underground hunting, where dogs are forced to violently face wildlife, like foxes, underground, is a cruelty that must end. We can’t let amendments to this Bill allow this cruelty to continue.
Please use your voice to give us the best possible chance of success – email your MLAs today and urge them to support the hunting bill at this crucial stage.
