The explosive evidence heard during the trial of Mark Hankinson, Director of the Masters of Foxhounds Association, has shown the hunts lies about trail hunting for what they are. There can no longer be any excuse for landowners to allow ‘trail’ hunting on their land.
Senior hunt officials have described trail hunting as a ‘smokescreen.’ Smokescreen is not an ambiguous word. It means: a ruse used to disguise someone's real intentions or activities.
Landowners must not allow this barbaric practice to continue. Now is the time to tell them that the public will not accept any more excuses for allowing animal cruelty on their land.
Major landowners such as the National Trust and Natural Resourses Wales have already put an end to 'trail' hunting on their land. But many are yet to commit to a solution.
